Anthropology Club

Below are the minutes from our second meeting on September 11th, 2006. We got an update from all committees. 

Minutes – September 11, 2006

• There will be a committe restructuring: Committees’ will have 3 people and Volunteers’ will be 1-2 people.
• Social Committee - planning a BBQ, Tuttle, possibly September 22nd
• Speaker Committee/Grad panel - want to get specific speakers for each subfield
• Conference Committee: want to host it week before Central States conference sometime in April). Want people to treat it like a real conference (dress up, get nervous, etc.). This year: just KSU anthro and internat’l studies majors. Next yr: include KU, Washburn, etc.
• Big Trip Committee: vote on location at next meeting; they will have 2-3 options (one is Chaco Canyon); looking at having it after finals in Spring, although spring break still might be an option (vote next meeting?)
• Small Trip: trip to Kansas City for dim sum, jazz, walk from plaza (rich) to poor area of town (cultural observations), possible block party to attend, indian food, museums. All ideas, still working on specifics.
• Next meeting we will have more specifics and some possible dates.
