Attempt 2: Mystery Ethnographic Theater 3000
Let’s try this again!
In the deepest darkest recesses of the second floor vault in Waters Hall, a treasure lay in wait. These relics, buried under a shroud of dense arcane debris and a fine layer of forgotten past, have once again been resurrected and replenished to their former pristine state. And so, we cordially open this once-in-a-lifetime exhibit to you, the public, and invite you to:
Mystery Ethnographic Theatre 3000!
We’ve “unearthed” boxes upon boxes of 16mm ethnographic films, and what better way to appreciate these theatrical masterpieces than by collectively heckling them. For those of you old enough (and nerdy enough) to remember the original series on the Sci-fi channel, we’re going to try and recreate the absurdity. Beginning Friday March 30 at 630pm, we will be holding our first annual “Mystery Ethnographic Theatre Night.” Popcorn and refreshments will be provided, as will the obnoxious commentary. The exhibition will be held at the prestigious Kearney Theatres (aka my living) located on the corner of 4th and Kearney St - Just look for the tire swing in the backyard.
If the films become too painful, we may just throw in an “actual” movie. We also realize that the spring dance is this weekend, which is why we are starting so early - but please also feel free to stop by after the Dance, as I’m sure our movie endevours will continue on late into the night.
Please RSVP for this event to this email: mah9999@ksu.edu
Or
On the Facebook group that will soon be created.
Hope to see you all there!
