We had our first meeting of the semester this Tuesday. It was a wondrous time with old members and new!

We voted that the annual bbq will be Tuesday, September 23 from 6-8pm at Poyntz Shelter in City Park. The club will provide hotdogs, hamburgers, crackers and drinks. We ask that you either bring a side dish or $2 to contribute. Besides good grub and hangin’ out, we will also have a stereo, so bring some tunes (aka cd’s)! And don’t forget your game face because we’ve got plans in that regard as well. (more…)

Last Friday we met at the bowling alley and bowled. We had a quick meeting where we discussed what will happen in the days to come. November will have a movie night, Bollywood themed or African themed, up to members. We voted Jenae Haskell as the Vice President Temporaire and we bowled some more.

We hope to re-energize the club this semester with plenty of social events for anthropology majors and club members to get to know eachother, the staff, and learn more about anthropology at KSU and across the world.

• Open House is this Saturday April 14th!! If you can stop by to help or have any cultural “artifacts” to contribute to make our table even cooler, email Ashley Conrad at aflac@ksu.edu. Hope to see you there!
• Club BBQ will be April 21st around 4:30pm you can show up to learn flintknapping and how to throw an atlatl. Dinner will start cooking around 6pm. Club will provide the meat, etc but club members are encouraged to bring other items like beverages, fruit, chips, dip, etc. Location map/directions will be emailed to the club listserv at a later date but it will be at Tuttle Creek Reservoir. •  At the last Bramlage Cleanup we had 6 or 7 people, good job! Next Bramlage Cleanup is on March 9th at 9:30pm. Be there or be square!
• Caroline - maybe talk with Ritterbush about a Archaeology Day where we do flintknapping, throw an atlatl, etc. Need wide open area. Sometime in April?
