Those Groovy Politicians
Feb 17th, 2008 by Jessie
Hello and welcome to my very first video!
I really enjoyed making this- it has been *fascinating* watching news coverage over the 2008 presidential elections. As stated in the video, there seems to have been a shift from judging candidates based on their ideas, to judging them based on personal character, attire, and showmanship. Beyond viewing this shift as “good” or “bad,” I believe it is important for us to look at it in relation to everything else- i.e. how it serves as a reflection on our society today.
Enjoy and thanks for watching!

That was an excellent editing job! I was a bit disturbed by the message, and it does remind me of Neil Postman in Amusing Ourselves to Death. However, I am not content to dismiss the media in all of its manifestations as simply being “bad,” and I’m glad that you aren’t either. Take care.
